Synopsis
Jack, a race car driver who retired twenty years ago to save his daughter, worked tirelessly for three years at his nephew Taylor’s auto repair shop—only to be humiliated with two cans of motor oil and $50. Disheartened, he teamed up with an old friend to start his own business. Using his skills in hand-machining aerospace-grade aluminum throttle bodies and his ability to diagnose engine problems by sound alone, he won over high-end clients and broke through Taylor’s blockade. At the Apex Cup, he drove his old race car to the absolute limit to force Ryan—whose brakes had failed—to stop, sending shockwaves across the internet. Taylor colluded with powerful figures to frame Jack, but was exposed by surveillance footage. He eventually ended up in prison, lost his entire fortune, and became a beggar. With the backing of a top-tier racing team, Jack accepted Ryan’s invitation to serve as a consultant, put on his black helmet once more, and returned to the racetrack.
