Synopsis

Only one week after transferring to this elite private university, four of the most popular guys on campus started hitting on me all at once.
Chase Sterling, the football team captain, asked me out for a candlelit dinner.
Lucas Hayes, the star hockey player, confessed his feelings to me publicly right after winning his match.
Julian Reed, the lead singer of the campus rock band, wrote a song for me and serenaded me in front of the entire student body.
Cole Montgomery, a signed agency model, personally slipped a custom diamond necklace with my initials around my neck.
The girls on campus were burning with jealousy:
"Did this broke scholarship girl slip them a potion or something? What does she even have?"
To be honest, even I was confused.
Back in my old high school, boys were terrified of me.
Why was everyone suddenly treating me like a prize?
That was until one night, when I accidentally stumbled across a private thread on the school's frat board.
"Bet: whoever gets this new poor girl into bed within a month takes the pot."
Attached right below the post was a picture of my face.
Turns out, their passionate pursuit was nothing more than a twisted fraternity game.
What they didn't know was that I wasn't broke at all.
In fact, my transfer to this school was also the result of a bet.
My dad is the wealthiest man in the country. Ever since I turned eighteen, wealthy heirs had been lining up at our door, begging for an arranged marriage.
I hated the idea of an arranged marriage.
So, I begged my dad to hide my identity, letting me transfer here as an ordinary girl to find real love.
If I found someone who loved me for who I was, Dad promised he'd never force another match on me.
Looking at it now, none of these men were even remotely worthy.
The comment section under the post was vile.
"A month? She'll be crawling into Chase's bed within a week."
"I bet she'll sleep with all four of them. Have you seen the way she drools over them? Like a desperate puppy."
"Poor thing, becoming their new prey right after transferring. Remember the last girl? Two abortions, and she's still rotting in a clinic."
"Looks to me like she's enjoying it."
"Come on, she's a nobody. That diamond necklace alone could pay her rent for ten years. She's already won the lottery."
The post had been created by Chloe, the varsity cheer captain.
Clutching my phone, I went to confront her, only to see her sitting snugly between Chase and Lucas outside the frat lounge.
Chase looked down at her with an indulgent smile.
"If I actually sleep with that broke girl, Lynn, you won't get jealous, right?"
Chloe flipped her hair with supreme arrogance.
"Jealous? Of her? Never!"
Lucas smirked and chimed in.
"Girls like her are just playthings. Our sweet Chloe doesn't need to waste her tears on trash."
Cole raised his glass toward Chloe.
"Put your money on me. I'm definitely taking the prize."
Lucas scoffed.
"Keep dreaming. Lynn already promised to sit front row at my next hockey game. I'm taking the win."
Peeking through the crack of the door, I got a good look at Chloe's face.
She was pretty, sure, but in high society circles, she was completely mediocre.
I honestly couldn't comprehend how these four guys were wrapped around her finger like loyal dogs.
I shook my head in utter disgust.
My real name is Evelyn Anderson.
Ever since I came of age, my father had tried setting me up with heirs from allied conglomerates.
Naturally, spoiled and strong-willed as I was, I rolled my eyes:
"Dad, what century is this? Arranged marriages?"
"Besides, you're already the richest man alive. Do you really need to sell your daughter to expand your empire?"
"I want real love!"
My dad had just sighed helplessly.
"You think those boys will love you for who you are? They only love your family's empire."
"How about a bet? Live as an ordinary girl, date around without a cent to your name."
"If you can find someone who truly loves you, I promise I will never push another man onto you."
And just like that, I showed up at this university disguised as a penniless scholarship student.
Right then, one of Chase's football buddies tapped me on the shoulder from behind:
"Hey, are you looking for Chase?"
Everyone inside the room snapped their heads toward me.
The room fell dead silent before Chase recovered and broke the ice.
"Lynn? How long have you been standing there?"
I acted completely oblivious, putting on a naive smile.
"Just got here! I came looking for Cole. We had dinner plans tonight, remember?"
Cole didn't miss a beat. He stepped forward and immediately took my hand.
"That's right. Tonight, I'm taking you to the most luxurious restaurant in town."
Chase cut in with a charming smile.
"Why don't we all go together?"
Before I knew it, I was ushered into their luxury sports car, cruising straight toward the city's most exclusive three-Michelin-star establishment.
I blinked in mild amusement. Wait, didn't my dad buy this place for me?
He literally hired this world-renowned French executive chef just to cook for me whenever I visited, turning it into a private restaurant on the side.
The second we walked in, the general manager rushed forward with utmost respect, opening his mouth to greet me by my real name.
I gave him a subtle, stern shake of my head.
The manager caught on instantly.
Cole pulled out a chair for me like a perfect gentleman.
"Order whatever you like. Don't worry about the prices."
Julian even leaned in, pretending to worry that I wouldn't recognize the gourmet ingredients, walking me through the pairings of each sauce with practiced fake warmth.Since they loved putting on a show, I was more than happy to play along.
I tilted my head, fluttering my eyelashes playfully.
"Julian, why don't you feed me a bite?"
Julian's smile twitched violently. He threw a quick glance at Chloe, and only after seeing her slight nod did he force out a reply:
"Sure."
For the rest of the night, the guys tried even harder to please me. Cole even gently wiped the corner of my lips with a napkin.
I gave them five-star performances all evening.
The next morning, the stares I received from students in the hallways were even more intense.
I opened my phone, and sure enough, Chloe had posted again.
This time, she uploaded a secretly recorded video of our dinner, complete with mocking captions:
"Look at this pathetic charity case. She's never even stepped into a real fine-dining place before."
"All it takes is one fancy dinner to get her into bed."
Cole left a comment underneath:
"I almost choked trying not to laugh! She's so brainless and easy to fool. She actually thinks she's Cinderella!"
Julian commented:
"Her lips touched my fingers. I scrubbed my hands three times."
Lucas tagged Julian:
"Bro, she's totally obsessed with you! Congrats on the easy kill!"
Chase finished it off:
"The game is still on. Let's see who snaps the first bed photo."
After that night, they doubled their efforts.
Flowers, expensive gifts, romantic invites—they showered me with everything.
Then, one afternoon, someone suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me into an empty hallway corner.
A guy gathered all his courage and whispered urgently:
"Lynn, listen to me! Those four guys are playing you. They don't like you at all!"
Half the school knew about the bet, but he was the very first person who actually stepped up to warn me.
Before I could even respond, Chase and the other three playboys shoved him hard against the wall.
Chase snarled with venom:
"Get the hell away from Lynn!"
"You're just a broke scholarship nobody. Don't you dare look at her, or I'll make sure you're expelled by tomorrow!"
Then, turning back to me, Chase's voice shifted back into that sickeningly gentle tone:
"The day after tomorrow is your birthday, Lynn. We planned a massive surprise for you—we're taking you out on a private yacht."
I instantly switched back into character, putting my hands over my heart:
"You guys remembered my birthday? I'm so touched... I've never even been on a yacht before!"
The day before my birthday, Cole handed me a designer garment bag containing an evening gown.
I frowned the moment I touched the fabric.
My custom, limited-edition couture dress was supposed to be hanging in my private penthouse closet. How the hell did it end up in their hands?A thought struck me. I pulled out my phone and searched Chloe's TikTok account.
She was live.
"Taking our little campus charity case out to see the real world again today!"
"Her dress? Oh, I just lent it to her. I never wear the same couture piece twice anyway."
She giggled into her hand, purposely flashing a massive sapphire ring on her finger to the camera.
"She probably doesn't even know how to walk in heels. Wonder if she'll fall flat on her face tonight?"
My expression turned ice-cold.
Chloe's dress, earrings, sapphire ring, and diamond necklace—every single luxury item on her body belonged to me.
I walked out as if nothing was wrong.
The four guys were waiting by the venue entrance, while Chloe held up her phone, ready to stream my humiliation to her thousands of followers.
The moment I stepped into the grand hall, the entire room went silent.
"Damn, she's breathtaking!"
"Who is she? An heiress from some old-money family?!"
Seeing the guys' eyes practically glued to me, Chloe's face twisted in pure jealousy.
I casually flipped my hair over my shoulder.
Did she really think a bunch of stolen clothes made her the queen?
The high-end jewelry auction began.
I was completely bored.
Under the guys' relentless encouragement, I casually pointed to a diamond pendant on display.
Cole immediately threw up his paddle.
"Three hundred thousand!"
Out of nowhere, Julian countered:
"Five hundred thousand!"
"Sorry, Cole, but I'm not backing down this time."
Chase laughed and threw his paddle in the air.
"Eight hundred thousand!"
Chloe stood on the sidelines, watching them aggressively burn cash just to win my favor. She wanted to interrupt, but she couldn't even get a word in.
The guys seemed drunk on the competition, driving the bids higher and higher until the piece hit three million dollars.
Cole and Julian finally had to tap out.
Just as Chase was about to brag about his win, Lucas, who had stayed silent the entire time, leaned forward.
"Blank check bid. Name your price, I'm taking the whole set!"
He kicked his legs up lazily, draping an arm over my shoulder with a smirk.
"I promised Lynn I'd personally win her birthday gift. I always keep my word."
When the auction ended, I held the box in my hands, thoroughly unimpressed.
When I said I didn't care for it, I meant it.
Most of the decent lots up for bidding tonight were literally just old jewelry pieces I had thrown out of my personal collection months ago.
Chloe squirmed her way over, pouting at Lucas.
"Lucas, I love this piece too. Can't you just give it to me instead?"
She pulled out a few hundred-dollar bills from her purse and shoved them into my hands.
"Certain jewelry only belongs on certain people. You should go buy some cheap trinkets at a flea market, sweetie."
I turned to Lucas, my eyes welling with fake tears as I offered the velvet box back to him.
"She's right... I don't deserve something this expensive. Take it back..."
I looked stunning tonight, and paired with my fragile, teary-eyed expression, Lucas's heart melted on the spot.
"Who the hell said you don't deserve it?!"
He reached out, tenderly wiping my fake tear, then snapped his head around to glare at Chloe.
"You're trying to steal a girl's birthday gift? Have you lost your damn mind?"
"Lynn was having a great night until you opened your mouth and made her cry! Apologize to her right now!"
He didn't spare Chloe an ounce of dignity.
Dozens of elite guests turned to stare.
Humiliated and red-faced, Chloe burst into tears and bolted from the hall.
That night, her livestream went live right on schedule.
Chloe sat sniffling in the center of the four guys.
"You guys were so mean to me today!"
Chase gently wiped her tears, speaking softly.
"Baby, you know we only did that so the broke girl would truly believe we're head over heels for her."
Lucas nodded in agreement.
"Look how completely wrapped around our fingers she is now. Imagine the look on her face when we dump her—it's going to be legendary!"
Cole chimed in:
"Don't be mad, Chloe. As soon as I get my next modeling check, I'll buy you the most expensive jewels you want."
Julian pushed up his glasses with a cruel smirk.
"Buying them is boring. When this is over, we'll make that charity case pay back everything she took from us at double the price, just to compensate you!"
In the livestream chat, viewers mocked the clips of me looking 'madly in love' with the four boys:
[Look how easily she gets bought off by some pocket change!]
[When she finds out it was all a dare, she's gonna jump off a roof, lmao!]
[Please, you HAVE to stream the breakup live! I can't wait!]
Chloe, fully comforted, beamed straight at the camera:
"Next Monday is the final day."
"Eight o'clock sharp at the outdoor amphitheater, we're streaming the gold-digging mutt getting dumped live for everyone!"
I smiled faintly.
Next Monday happened to be the exact deadline for me to report my dating results back to my father.Over the next few days, the four guys couldn't stop fishing for affirmations of my love.
To each of them, I put on the most devoted, deeply infatuated performance possible.
I had to make sure their egos were bloated to maximum capacity.
Sure enough, a few days later, my dorm doorway was completely flooded with bouquets of red roses.
Four boys, four massive bouquets, four love letters.
Exactly as teased on their livestream, all four asked to meet me at the campus amphitheater on Monday at eight o'clock.
That evening, I dressed to kill.
I wore the designer gown I hadn't 'returned' yet, paired with the 'priceless' jewels they had bought back for me.
I gave them the perfect stage.
When I arrived at the designated spot, before I could even see the four boys, someone jumped out to block my path.
"Lynn!"
I looked closely. It was that same scholarship kid from before.
"You can't go in there! You're going to regret this!"
Seeing me unbothered, he frantically pulled out his phone and opened Chloe's active TikTok live to show me.
"They've been playing you this entire time! It's all a trap!"
I tilted my head, amused.
"I know."
"But who's really playing who? We haven't seen the ending yet, have we?"
Without waiting for his response, I stepped right past him.
Waiting for me in the amphitheater were not just the four boys, but Chloe and a massive crowd holding up their phones, ready for the spectacle.
The four finally tore off their masks.
Chase spoke first, his tone dripping with condescension:
"Did you honestly think we were going to ask you out?"
Lucas let out a sharp, mocking laugh:
"We were just messing with you, sweetheart. Did you actually take us seriously?"
Laughter erupted across the amphitheater.
People in the crowd sneered loudly:
"Did she seriously think she had a shot with them?"
"I bet she was already picking which one to marry in her head, haha!"
"A delusional girl dreaming of a prince is funny, but a broke girl doing it? Peak comedy!"
My acting instincts kicked in, and tears instantly welled in my eyes.
"So... everything was a lie? The flowers, the dates, the auction... none of it was real?"
Cole pulled out his phone, flashing the millions of viewers watching the stream.
"Not only was it fake, but thousands of people got a front-row seat to the circus."
"You've been dancing like a clown the entire time!"
Julian stepped forward and aggressively yanked the diamond necklace straight off my collarbones.
"Chloe loves this piece. A peasant like you doesn't deserve to touch it."
Chloe sauntered over, looking me up and down like I was dirt:
"They say clothes make the man. Wearing my gown and my jewelry, you almost looked like you belonged."
"Too bad dreams have to end."
She walked behind me and aggressively grabbed the zipper of my dress, yanking it straight down.
"Take it off. Give it back to me."
Vulgar whistles and catcalls echoed through the crowd.
I didn't scream, and I didn't cry. I simply turned around, smiled faintly, and delivered a vicious slap right across Chloe's face.
SMACK!
Chloe stumbled back, her eyes wide with shock.
The four guys instantly lost their minds.
"You bitch! How dare you lay a hand on Chloe!"
"We played along with your little Cinderella fantasy for a month, and now you think you're hot shit? You think you're on our level?!"
"Strip her right now! Let's see her walk back to her dorm completely naked!!"
Before their hands could touch me, a massive shadow appeared silently behind my back.
A tailored trench coat was gently draped over my exposed shoulders.
In the very next second, my lead bodyguard swept forward, slamming all four of them brutally to the concrete in a matter of seconds.
I stood tall, looking down at their groaning bodies.
"Interview over."
"Unfortunately for you all..."
"None of you are worthy of becoming the fiancé of the Anderson family heiress!"

Wearing my gown and my jewelry, you almost looked like you belonged." "Too bad dreams have to end." She walked behind me and aggressively grabbed the zipper of my dress, yanking it straight down. "Take it off. Give it back to me." Vulgar whistles and catcalls echoed through the crowd. I didn't scream, and I didn't cry. I simply turned around, smiled faintly, and delivered a vicious slap right across Chloe's face. SMACK! Chloe stumbled back, her eyes wide with shock. The four guys instantly lost their minds. "You bitch! How dare you lay a hand on Chloe!" "We played along with your little Cinderella fantasy for a month, and now you think you're hot shit? You think you're on our level?!" "Strip her right now! Let's see her walk back to her dorm completely naked!!" Before their hands could touch me, a massive shadow appeared silently behind my back. A tailored trench coat was gently draped over my exposed shoulders. In the very next second, my lead bodyguard swept forward, slamming all four of them brutally to the concrete in a matter of seconds. I stood tall, looking down at their groaning bodies. "Interview over." "Unfortunately for you all..." "None of you are worthy of becoming the fiancé of the Anderson family heiress!"
