Synopsis
Drugged by my fiancé and my best friend. Dragged into the penthouse of New York’s most ruthless Mafia Don. But instead of panicking, my tight nerves finally let go.
I'm finally home.
My fiancé thought the drugs fried my brain. He grabbed my jaw roughly.
"Listen up, bitch. Our gang's port smuggling route depends entirely on tonight!"
"Word is Cassian's been looking for a woman with a specific butterfly birthmark. The one on your collarbone should fool him."
"Serve him like the slut you are. Make him happy. Once the deal is done, I'll even toss you a few stacks of cash."
My best friend stroked her red lips and giggled.
"Yeah! Getting into the Don's bed is a blessing. Don't act like a prude. Once we get the smuggling route, you'll be our hero. Maybe I'll even let you serve drinks at our wedding."
The drugs boiled in my blood. They shoved me roughly through the heavy doors.
No one noticed the mocking smirk on my face as I leaned against the sofa.
I knew exactly whose territory this was.
The unpredictable, violent Mafia tyrant they were talking about? The one who treated women like toys?
He's my blood brother.
Today, out of pure greed, they hand-delivered me straight into his territory.
Tomorrow, they’ll learn that staying alive can be far worse than going to hell.

Chapter 1
The drugs burned in my bones. Every muscle screamed in aching pain.
I forced my eyes open. My gaze locked onto the carved raven crest on the ceiling.
My family's crest.
Before I turned eighteen, that raven was branded on the lining of all my custom gowns.
Just outside the door, Julian's voice hissed like a greasy snake. Full of greed.
"Chloe, is the intel solid? Is Cassian really coming back to this penthouse tonight?"
Chloe could barely hide her excitement.
"Fifty grand for this tip. He'll be here by midnight."
"When he opens that door and sees a stunner in his bed... with the exact birthmark he's looking for..."
She sneered.
"Meat delivered right to his mouth. No way he won't eat it."
"If the Don is happy, that underground casino in South Manhattan is ours! Valeria is such an idiot. She really thought we'd share the wealth with her. What a stupid cash cow."
Hearing their shameless giggles outside the door, I bit down hard on my tongue. I listened quietly. It was almost pathetic.
I risked my life for Julian’s pathetic little gang. I treated Chloe like my own sister.
What did I get? They slept together in the apartment I rented with my last dime.
And now? They priced me like a cheap hooker and sent me to another man's bed without a second thought.
My stomach knotted with pain.
My nails dug into the sofa until they broke. But the physical pain was nothing compared to the hatred boiling in my heart.
They had no idea. My brother is Cassian.
Years ago, a car bomb took our parents.
We only had each other growing up.
But after he took over the family, he rarely came home.
We had a massive fight. I left for Europe in a fit of rage.
Over the years, we had an unspoken understanding. We licked our wounds in our separate worlds.
He just kept wiring money to my secret offshore accounts. Terrified I would suffer.
Julian and Chloe thought I was a broke orphan who blew through her trust fund.
That’s why they dared to use me as a bargaining chip.
But my brother might be ruthless, yet he is fiercely protective of his own.
Once, a street punk just whistled at me. Cassian had him dumped in the Hudson River.
If he saw me now? Delivered to his bed as a toy by these two pieces of trash?
Hell would be a luxury for them.
"Oh, right!" Chloe purposely raised her voice. "Once we get the casino, we should have our wedding. I want the wedding dress Valeria designed for herself."
Julian chuckled with affection.
"Sure. We'll use the money from selling her to throw you the grandest wedding. A powerless orphan like her? She'll die in this concrete jungle without a splash."
I stared at the ceiling. Counting down silently in my head.
The intel was right. My brother would come here.
Because today is the anniversary of our parents' assassination.
They made their final decision in this very penthouse. Every year, he comes here to mourn.
Every year, countless idiots send him women as "gifts". But this year’s "surprise" is me.
The next second, the door was violently pushed open.
Julian strode in and grabbed me by the hair.
A tearing pain ripped through my scalp.
"Valeria, don't blame me. Blame yourself for being a nobody. You deserve to be sold cheap."
"Even if he breaks you tonight, you better keep the Don happy!"
Powerless nobody?
I looked at his smug face calmly. My voice was flat.
"Julian, do you really know who you're giving me to tonight? Stop now. This is your last chance."
"Still talking nonsense!"
Chloe stepped up and slapped me hard across the face.
My ears rang instantly.
"Change her clothes! The Don will be here any minute!"
Chloe sneered viciously. She ripped off my designer trench coat. She forced me into a cheap, tacky red slip dress.
She even tore the neckline. Exposing the butterfly birthmark on my collarbone to the air.
"Look at you. Just like a cheap slut."
She patted my cheek in satisfaction.
I lay on the bed, feeling the ultimate humiliation. My fists clenched slowly.
Pimping out the Don's real sister to his own bed?
That's definitely a first.
Chapter 2
Julian and Chloe dragged me out of the penthouse. One on each side. Like a piece of trash.
At the end of the hallway stood a dozen armed guards. The killing intent in the air was suffocating.
The lead man strode toward us.
I half-closed my eyes. I recognized him. Rocco.
Five years ago, he was a low-level thug. Not even qualified to open my car door.
I've been wandering outside all these years. Who knew he'd become my brother's most trusted right-hand man?
Julian and Chloe's arrogance vanished instantly.
Replaced by disgusting, fawning smiles.
"Rocco, sir. We brought the girl."
Rocco looked down at them.
His gaze was like a poisoned blade. It finally landed coldly on me.
"You know the Don's rules?"
"The women sent here must be completely clean."
Julian nodded like a madman. He bowed so low his back almost touched the floor.
"Yes, yes! Absolutely clean! Absolutely obedient!"
Rocco snorted coldly. He looked me up and down.
"Good. The Don is in a violently foul mood tonight. He needs a toy to blow off some steam."
"If this woman doesn't serve him well, you two will be wearing cement shoes."
Julian shivered in fear. He shoved me forward violently.
"Are you mute? Answer Mr. Rocco yourself!"
I steadied myself. A very light sigh escaped my throat.
"Don't waste your energy. You have no idea what you're doing."
Julian flew into a rage. He backhanded me across the face.
"Bitch! I told you to answer properly! Stop acting high and mighty!"
I stumbled from the slap. My knees hit the cold marble floor hard.
The already torn slip dress slid down my shoulder. I looked even more pathetic.
Julian growled through gritted teeth.
"Useless trash! You dare show attitude in front of Mr. Rocco?"
Rocco watched the drama coldly. Finally, he spoke again.
"The Don hates disobedient toys."
"The last woman who threw a tantrum in front of him? Her body was dumped in the East River a long time ago."
Julian and Chloe turned pale. Their breathing stopped for a second.
I kept my head down. But at an angle they couldn't see, my lips slowly curled up.
Since our parents died, my brother executed all traitors in the most brutal ways.
Since then, he treated all women who threw themselves at him with brutal scrutiny.
His methods haven't changed at all.
Thinking of this, a bloodthirsty excitement flickered in my eyes.
My unusual reaction didn't escape Rocco's eyes.
He squinted slightly. A hint of hidden amusement flashed in his eyes.
"You've got some nerve."
"Other women would have pissed their pants hearing about the river."
He looked me up and down. His tone carried a hint of satisfaction.
"The Don is furious tonight. He needs someone with a tough spine as a punching bag."
"With your fearless attitude, you might just be exactly his type."
"If you let him vent properly, maybe we underlings will get some perks too."
Julian's eyes lit up immediately.
He thought my half-dead look actually caught Rocco's eye. He found his nerve again.
He grabbed my hair, forcing my head up.
Tearing pain ripped through my scalp. I bit my lower lip hard. I stared at him. Like looking at a dead man.
"Look, Mr. Rocco! This face, this body! Guaranteed to please the Don!"
Julian rolled his eyes and lowered his voice, trying to fish for information.
"Mr. Rocco, if I may ask... why is the Don in such a bad mood tonight?"
"Also, word is he's been looking for a woman with a special butterfly birthmark. What kind of beauty is she?"
"Give us a hint. We can find exactly what the Don wants next time..."
The next second, Rocco pulled his gun. He pressed the barrel right against Julian's forehead.
"The Don's private matters. Are they for garbage like you to ask?"
Julian's face flushed red instantly.
"Yes, yes! I deserve to die! I spoke out of turn!"
To cover up his guilt and fear, he vented all his anger on me again.
He shoved me hard. I slammed into the cold wall of the hallway.
A dull pain shot through my shoulder. I frowned in agony.
"Bitch! Get in there and serve him well!"
"Once you're inside, even if you have to beg like a dog, you better make the Don happy!"
He pushed me hard. I fell forward.
Fighting the dull ache in my shoulder, I grabbed the cold doorframe. I straightened my spine. I stood tall.
Julian just asked why Cassian was in a bad mood?
I sneered silently. Probably because it's pouring rain on his parade.
Five years ago on this day, the anniversary of our parents' death, I pointed at his nose and called him a murderer.
On one side, his only blood relative, a rebellious sister. On the other, our brutally murdered parents. Who could be in a good mood?
Just to please him, his own sister is being delivered as a whore to his bed.
Cassian. I really want to see this.
When this door opens, how are you going to explain this to me?
Chapter 3
I pushed the heavy doors open.
Crystal chandeliers overhead. Custom Persian rugs underfoot. Every inch screamed money.
The air smelled of expensive cigars and whiskey. The luxury was suffocating.
Julian's eyes almost popped out of his head.
"Fuck... Just one bottle from that wine cabinet could buy our entire turf."
Chloe's eyes were full of greed.
"Once this is done, we'll own Manhattan! I'll crush that bitch Valeria under my feet forever!"
Julian gave a filthy smile.
"If this bitch pleases the Don tonight, maybe he'll toss us a few blocks to run!"
I leaned against the door. Expressionless. I observed the room like a bystander.
My eyes swept over a framed photo on the desk. A family portrait. The girl with the bright smile in it. That was me.
Rocco saw me staring at the photo. He narrowed his eyes. A cold warning.
"Put away that disgusting look."
"A cheap whore like you doesn't deserve to look at the Young Miss's picture."
Seeing I didn't react to his insult, he lost his patience. He grabbed my wrist.
His lustful eyes swept over my torn red dress.
"If the Don didn't specifically ask for a clean woman, I'd take you right here."
A mocking smile touched my lips.
"Is this how Cassian disciplines his dogs? Looks like someone needs to skin you alive and teach you a lesson."
Rocco was furious. He raised his hand to slap me.
Just then, Julian let out a shocked gasp.
"Wait... the girl in this picture. Why does she look exactly like you when you were a kid?"
He reached out for the photo.
"Touch the Don's things and you're dead!"
A sharp, angry scream exploded in the room.
A woman in 12-centimeter red-bottom heels walked in.
Vivian.
One of Cassian's mistresses. Always dreaming of becoming the Mafia Queen.
But when her eyes landed on my face, her arrogance turned into venomous jealousy.
"This face..."
She pinched my chin, looking down at me. Pure madness in her eyes.
"A lowly toy putting on airs. People might think you own the place!"
"Get on your knees and answer me!"
I turned my head. I brushed her hand away lightly.
"Don't touch me. If Cassian sees a single scratch on me, I promise you'll regret walking in here today."
Vivian laughed out of pure rage. Her face twisted.
"You want to die!"
She backhanded me hard.
I dodged sharply. She missed and stumbled pathetically.
"Who the hell do you think you are?!" Vivian screamed hysterically.
I fixed my messy hair. My tone was calm.
"Try me. But you better pray Cassian keeps his sanity when he walks in and sees you touching me. After all, in this world, I am the only one who can call him by his first name."
The room fell dead silent.
Vivian froze for a second. Then her malice completely exploded.
"Let's see if you can still call his name when I ruin you today! Pin her down!"
Julian lunged at me. He pinned me to the floor, locking my arms tight.
"Miss Vivian, please calm down! This bitch is just a shameless slut!"
"She's a cheap slut! Do what you want with her. If she breaks, that's my problem!"
Chloe rushed over too. She kicked my calf hard.
A dull pain shot through my leg. I clenched my teeth and didn't make a sound. I silently memorized every single move they made.
Vivian sneered. She raised her hand. Her fingers were loaded with diamond rings. She slapped me hard across the face.
Smack. My cheek instantly swelled red.
She crouched down slowly. She pressed her sharp acrylic nail against my collarbone.
"Think you're a big shot? You're nothing without this face and this skin."
The sharp nail dragged across my skin. A stinging pain followed.
She viciously tried to scratch out the butterfly birthmark on my collarbone. The symbol of my family's bloodline.
"Let's ruin this birthmark. Let's see how you seduce the Don then!"
Ultimate danger closed in. The scratching pain tore through my skin.
I threw my head back. I stared straight at the closed double doors. I raised my voice.
"Cassian! Get your ass out here right now! If anything happens to me, I will haunt you from hell!"
Chapter 4
Dead silence followed my words.
Then Vivian burst into uncontrollable laughter and mockery.
"What a slut. Begging for it before you even see him!"
"But the Don's name isn't for trash like you to say! You've got a death wish!"
The next second, her eyes turned even more ruthless. She raised both hands and slapped me twice. Left and right. Her sharp nails left bloody scratches on my neck.
"Hold her down! Hold her tight!"
Julian didn't hesitate. He pressed his weight on my shoulders. He shoved my face into the floor.
My cheek flattened against the marble. Even though I was pinned, my mind was crystal clear. I knew the door could open at any second.
The man I once loved with all my heart was currently pushing me to the slaughterhouse. Playing the executioner's most loyal dog.
A sharp sting spread from my collarbone. The skin broke. Drops of blood seeped out.
Vivian let out a sick, crazy laugh.
"Ruin this birthmark. Ruin this face. Let's see how arrogant you can be!"
Julian sucked up to her eagerly.
"You're absolutely right, Miss Vivian! If you're still mad, take some naked pictures of her! Let's see how she seduces men after that!"
Chloe mocked, "Ruining her face and birthmark is too easy on her."
"Let's strip her naked and throw her in the slums. Teach her what happens when she offends Miss Vivian!"
Listening to their sick carnival, blood tasted sweet in the back of my throat. I sighed silently.
Every mark they left on my body would be an epitaph carved into their tombstones.
My brother's methods will teach them what it means to beg for death.
The next second, Julian reached for my slip dress.
I struggled violently. All my remaining strength exploded. I kicked him hard in the knee.
Julian groaned in pain. His eyes turned more vicious. He slammed his knee violently into my back. A crushing weight pressed down on me.
"Stop fighting. You're just dead meat on the chopping block."
Ultimate humiliation drowned me.
Vivian's smile turned more cruel. She grabbed the last piece of fabric covering me. She yanked hard.
With her other hand, she pulled out her phone. She quickly opened a live-stream room on the dark web.
"Throwing her out isn't enough. I'm going live. I want every gang in New York to see how cheap this slut really is!"
Right at that very second!
A deafening crash exploded.
Those expensive double doors were kicked open violently from the outside.
Bang! The heavy wooden doors slammed into the walls. A terrifying boom!
A tall, imposing figure strode in. Carrying a suffocating, low air pressure.
"Who permitted this mess?!"
The madness on Vivian's face instantly turned into joy. She held up her phone. Her voice dripped with sickly sweet pride.
"Don! You're just in time! I'm teaching a clueless new toy a lesson for you!"
Julian looked up quickly. Tail wagging like a lapdog.
"Don! We specially found you a top-tier beauty with that butterfly birthmark you've been looking for! Absolutely clean!"
"Please accept our loyalty! Give our smuggling route a chance!"
My brother's footsteps stopped dead.
His gaze cut through the crowd. It landed on me. Pinned to the floor. A complete mess.
He saw my swollen, red cheeks. He saw the bloody scratch marks on my collarbone.
Most importantly, he saw the face he had been searching for for five long years. The face he thought about day and night.
The ruthless Don's mask shattered instantly. Replaced by endless panic and devastation.
Clatter. The lighter slipped from his fingers and hit the floor.
While Julian was paralyzed by this dead silence, I pushed him away. I grabbed the sofa and slowly stood up.
I met Cassian's utterly shocked, speechless gaze. I spoke softly.
"Cassian. Is this how you welcome your own sister?"
"If you had come a second later, your dogs would have stripped me naked and live-streamed throwing me into the slums."
