Synopsis
"Winnie Morris runs a Chicago knit repair shop mending old wool sweaters tied to untold love stories. Aged Irene brings a moth-eaten grey cardigan her husband Harold gifted her before vanishing 40 years prior. Tracking Harold down, Winnie finds him in a California nursing home suffering from Alzheimer’s, whose body still recognizes the sweater despite lost memories. Winnie stitches a golden heart along the sweater’s hole, bridging the couple’s decades-long separation. After Harold passes, Irene later moves to his town and eventually dies, leaving the meaningful sweater to Winnie. Years later, Irene’s granddaughter returns the garment. Winnie also uncovers her own long-lost father’s unsent regretful letters, healing her lifelong resentment. Her shop becomes a haven for broken hearts, where golden thread mends not just sweaters, but lifetimes of longing and unfinished love."
