Synopsis
Norah Chen, a 33-year-old marine engineer, met Derek Sterling, a former deep-sea mining executive, at the Ocean Technology Summit, where they designed the "DeepDiver II" submersible. During their honeymoon dive, Derek attempted to kill Norah by sabotaging the submersible. Using her skills, she rescued herself and uncovered evidence that led to Derek's conviction and a 12-year prison sentence, which was commuted before his death. After their divorce, Norah opened the submersible patent, founded the "Deep Sea Rose Fund" to support female marine scientists, authored the Deep-Sea Self-Safety Manual, trained her assistant Maya, and developed the "Deep Sea Rose I," becoming an inspiration for others.
